We are speaking at ALPSP 2026 Conference

Scholarly publishing is entering a period of rapid change.

As AI becomes part of how researchers discover, read, and work with scholarly content, publishers are facing new questions around metadata, rights, content access, and how books can remain visible and useful in an AI-driven research environment.

How can publishers prepare their books and metadata for AI? What rights considerations need to be addressed? How can smaller publishers approach AI without large budgets or technical teams? And how can better metadata help scholarly content reach the researchers who need it?

These are some of the questions shaping the ALPSP Annual Conference & Awards 2026, taking place in Manchester, UK, from 9–11 September 2026.

Organized by the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP), the annual conference brings together publishers, librarians, researchers, and other professionals to discuss the issues shaping scholarly publishing.

On Day 2, Sara will join the panel “AI-Ready Books: Practical Metadata, Rights, and AI Strategies for Impact on a Small Budget.”

The session will explore practical approaches to preparing books for an AI-driven publishing environment, with a focus on metadata, rights, and strategies that can work within limited resources.

Sara’s participation reflects Zendy’s interest in the conversations shaping research discovery, scholarly content, and the changing role of AI in academic publishing.
